So good to see that at last some positive and imaginative attempts are being made to revitalize the Town.
Option 3 being the most far reaching offers the most potential, so has my vote.
- Further to the above comments on publicity and consultation, what consultation/notification has taken place with the individual land-holders in the areas under each proposal?
-Why is the run-down Maypole Yard, listed last year as a Key Regeneration Site TCS4/2 no longer featured in ant option?
-Please explain and justify how increased floor space and parking for Aldi and other major supermarkets will not further negatively impact the viability of current and future smaller independent businesses?
- What is the justification for(relatively)less parking to serve proposed increased shopping and residential density
yours sincerely

Hi

These are all positive plans for Dunstable option 3 in My opinion being the most radical and necessary for the Town, My only concern is that with increased shops and more flats each of these schemes offer less town parking than we currently have. At present with many shops shut the parking situation in the Town is still bad, with better shops and more reson to visit the Town the parking must be highlighted as a priotity with at least two multi storey car parks for the Town offering at least 1000 spaces between them.

Most people I have spoken to only found out about the display in the Quadrant after it had taken place. There has been no representative at the library at my several visits and so I have been unable to ask any questions. As option 3 requires the demolition of several family homes I would like to know if these people received any information or invitations above and beyond the marketing to the general population. Also, have their relevant councillors been in touch to avoid upsetting them?

The proposals are very extensive and offer considerable options for Dunstable.

1, The marketing of the consultation has been very poor. Very few people knew that the proposals would be displayed in the Quadrant, meaning that the consultaion results will not be representative.

2, Only having the representatives on site for comments for one day is not satisfactory.

3, I strongly hope that the residents of Dorchester close had individual invites to few the proposals, considering option is to demolish their homes.

4, I have no specific objections to the options being offerd but the marketing of such leaves a lot to be desired.

The proposed masterplan exhibition is being advertised in the Dunstable Gazette and the Luton & Dunstable Express (formally known as Luton & Dunstable on Sunday). In conjunction with the advertisements, a press release is being sent out to all local newspapers and agencies regarding the masterplan exhibition. A substantial number of posters have been placed in Dunstable Library, town centre shops and also in the Town Council notice boards. The Council is also hoping that a senior Councillor will be able to be interviewed on local radio next week regarding the proposed masterplan exhibition.

How will you get this information out the the residents of Dunstable? If it is anything like the 1st attempt with the small postcards being sent out, that were mostly found to be disgarded in the local free paper. No one is going to be aware of this meeting.
My parents live in Dunstable, do not have access to the internet along with many others. Local residents need to be made aware, as this Masterplan for the regeneration of Dunstable is greatly needed and is going to effect everyone of us.
