EDAW and its team believe it has the right skills and expertise to successfully meet the requirements of the project as summarised in the project brief, specifically:
- Our existing knowledge of the local area, which will allow us to ‘hit the ground running’, essential in order to meet the challenging project timescales;
- We have a strong planning, design transport, urban form and branding team, which will review and refine the proposals and secure a robust masterplan;
- We have considerable experience in the management and delivery of complex spatial frameworks, strategies and masterplans, involving the integration of multidisciplinary teams;
- We understand the relationship between ‘placemaking’ and ‘place-shaping’ and fostering brand and identity elements, which are instrumental in turning around the fortunes of areas in need of regeneration;
- We have particular experience with engaging with a range of stakeholders on complex, high profile projects and in running successful public consultation events, with outputs that feed into the masterplanning process;
- We understanding what a masterplan needs to do to ensure successful delivery by overcoming property market constraints;
- We have first hand experience of setting up delivery mechanisms that can harness public and private sector resources to implement a masterplan.
The EDAW team is committed to the project and has a strong desire to achieve a deliverable solution for Dunstable Town Centre.
The regeneration of Dunstable can play a major role in enhancing quality of life for the residents of the district.
Furthermore, we believe that successfully defining a distinctive, sustainable future for the town centre can provide many valuable lessons for the regeneration of other historic towns in the UK.
